SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

November 15th, 2021

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a scheduled Special meeting of the Village Board was held on Monday, November 15th, 2021.

Village President Shane Trott presided and called to order the meeting at the Village Hall facility at 2:00 p.m. Board members present were Galen Brainerd, Kim Grasley, Jim Johnson, Loren Beebe and Mark Zimmer. Clerk/Treasurer Jessica Hayes attended as well.

NEW BUSINESS:     
Employee Wage Negotiations Discussion & Action: After several committee meetings with employees over several months, the Administration Committee has final recommendations for 2022 employee wages & benefits to present to the Board. The committee recommends the following:
Kurt Will –
Effective 11/1/2021, raise pay to $21.48 and 3% increase on 1/1/202240 hour weeks(will include weekend rounds), Kurt will take care of weekend rounds, OT for emergency only, $100.00 monthly health insurance stipend
Casey Gudis –
Effective 11/1/2021, raise pay to $23.00, with a 3% raise on 1/1/2022=$23.69  and once licenses are obtained, bump pay $.50 more = $24.19.
And a $.50 raise when any other required licenses are obtained.40 hour weeks, no weekends, OT for emergency only, and bumping sick time to 112 hours and vacation time to 120 hours accrued a year and giving $100.00 monthly health insurance stipend
Jessica Hayes –  
Effective 11/1/2021, raise pay to $20.48 and increase to $22.00 on 1/1/202232.5 hour weeks and bumping vacation up one week, $100.00 monthly health insurance stipend
Jeanne Nelson –
3% pay increase effective 1/1/202226 hour weeks & $100.00 monthly health insurance stipend
Bob Ewald –
3% pay increase effective 1/1/2022
Peggy Weinert –
3% pay increase effective 1/1/2022

Vehicle Allowance –
Only paid out to employees upon submittal of mileage certificate along with explanation of where/date/ & starting/ending mileage except Ewald & Weinert who receive an annual $50.00 one-time payment

Veteran’s Day – Now given as a paid holiday

Vacation, Sick & Holiday pay is paid out and accrued as employees normal working hourly day:
Will & Gudis – 8 Hours
Hayes & Nelson – 6.5 Hours


Keep Paternity Leave as is in Manual but add FMLA for additional time off. Will read as follows now: ‘A full-time or part-time employee who is the father of a newly born infant shall be permitted to take one day off on the day the infant is born and one day off the day his wife and infant come home, provided that they are normal work days. Such use shall reduce the amount of sick days accumulated by an equal amount or an equal amount of comp time. See FMLA for additional time off.’

– Possibly placing an ad in the paper for a part time helper with a CDL license

Motion by Brainerd, seconded by Grasley to approve the committee’s final recommendations for employee wages & benefits for 2022, including advertising for seasonal help and to include a half hour paid lunch for employees as well, carried.

ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Zimmer, seconded by Johnson to adjourn, carried. Adjournment was at 2:17 p.m.
