The Village of Bruce Will Be
Flushing Water Hydrants

April 22nd, 24rd, 25th & 25^th 2019 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

               Please refrain from running during this time.

 The flushing of water mains is to remove existing sediment and possible deposits of manganese (black specs and the cause of black water), and iron (the cause of brown or red water).  In the process of flushing, some black sediment may or may not become evident in your water.  If so, please flush your house line for a short period-one COLD WATER faucet for 10 to 15 minutes.  If discolored water lasts for more than a day please contact the Village Hall at 868-2185 or Shop at 868-2188.

 DO NOT BECOME ALARMED over the safety of the water.  It is only an aesthetic problem and is not harmful to health.  Please, if at all possible, don’t use water for washing if black water is extreme since manganese and iron in concentrated amounts will discolor clothes.
