Committee Meeting 1/24/25 Report/Minutes: A committee meeting was held on January 24th, 2025. Below are the minutes from that meeting:
The committee met to discuss the replacement of the sewer line in the alley in front of the old grocery store, between Main Street and Alvey Street. The businesses within the area are looking at replacing the blacktop.
The committee is recommending that if not all business owners are interested in blacktopping their properties within the project scope, then the Village would back out on doing the sewer line replacement and blacktopping of the entire alley.
Chippewa Valley Bank and Bruce Telephone are still interested in moving forward with the blacktopping of their lots. The committee recommends grinding and blacktopping overlay on the section of the alley that adjoins the properties.
A confirmation from the business owners would need to be obtained to determine if this is the route the Village would take.
Review of the ordinance regarding special assessments needs to be looked over and amended if needed.
An additional committee meeting will be scheduled to discuss the project further.
